Spartan Classic All-Tournament teams announced

There was plenty of great basketball to be had this past weekend in the Spartan Classic girls and boys basketball tournaments at St. Mary’s Tony Conigliaro Gymnasium. When the smoke finally cleared Monday night, Marblehead had won the boys title, Lowell the Division 1 girls title and Ipswich the Division 2 girls title. There were all-tournament teams and most valuable players selected.The boys All-Tournament team featured Most Valuable Player Damola Abu of Marblehead; Pat Song, Marblehead; Tade Ogunbona, St. Mary’s; Dino Mallios, Winthrop; and Jaymie Spears, Georgetown.Ashley Rivera of Lincoln-Sudbury was named the girls Division 1 Most Valuable Player. The All-Tournament team also included Tawny Palmieri, Peabody; Jaclyn Lyons, Reading; and Meaghan Cavanaugh, Lowell.The Division 2 girls Most Valuable Player trophy went to Ipswich’s Amber Smith. The team also included Jeanette Anderson, English; Tori Faieta, St. Mary’s; Taryn O’Connell, Georgetown; and Lindsey French, Ipswich.
