For The ItemSALEM – A Superior Court judge ordered a Lynn man charged with holding a handgun to a man?s head and pulling the trigger twice in November held in Middleton Jail without bail.Deiby Felix, 24, of 111 Chestnut St., #2, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Friday morning to armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm without a license.Judge Howard J. Whitehead ordered Felix held on a no bail status, and continued the case to March 4 for a possible bail review.Assistant District Attorney Michael P. Hickey said the charges concern an incident in Lynn on the night of Nov. 24.Felix is accused of holding a handgun to 19-year-old Juan Garcia?s head outside a Houghton Street house party and pulling the trigger, police said.The gun apparently jammed, and Garcia took off into the area of Light Street after punching Felix in the ribs.As Garcia ran down the street, Felix apparently fired three rounds at him, but missed the Lynn resident.Police said they found two spent shell casings on Light Street shortly after the incident.Authorities believe there was a long history of bad blood between the two men.Felix faces up to 20 years in state prison if convicted on the attempted murder charge, up to five years in prison on the assault with a dangerous weapon and 18 months in jail on the firearm charge.In essence, Felix is looking at 26 years and 6 months of committed time, if convicted on all three charges.Felix is being represented by Attorney Frank J. Sanchez, Jr. of Lynn.
