February 26, 2008 by Robin Kaminski

LYNN – Bridgewell’s latest acquisition at 162 Boston St. is reportedly under renovation and is set for completion in April.Purchased last year, Bridgewell Chief Executive Officer Robert Stearns said 62 people would be employed at the new space that would be used for a day rehabilitation program and a day employment support program for the developmentally disabled.”The building had been vacant for many years and had been an eye sore in the community,” he said. “Bridgewell has made a substantial investment in this building, and the renovated building will have a positive impact on the area.”Stearns said the nonprofit agency, which provides services throughout the North Shore and Merrimack Valley to help people achieve personal and professional success, announced that renovations on the building are near completion.Currently Bridgewell operates at two other locations in Lynn.”Bridgewell takes a great deal of pride in the buildings that it owns in Lynn and the 18 communities where we provide services,” Stearns said. “We will maintain the property so that it reflects very positively on the neighborhood and the city of Lynn.”Group outpatient psychotherapy offered through Bridgewell Counseling Services, maintenance and transportation departments would also be housed at the new location.Stearns said the newly renovated building would provide a spacious, bright and airy environment for the people Bridgewell serves in its day program.”We are all looking forward to our move-in date,” he said.Clinical services, affordable housing, homeless services, children’s and recreational services as well as employment training and educational services are also offered at Bridgewell.
