PEABODY-Police say a Lynn man who had an outstanding warrant for an assault charge led police on a chase through the streets of Peabody Monday after a State Police Trooper tried to initiate a traffic stop.Anthony Hernandez, 29, of 170 South Common St., Lynn, was arrested and charged with reckless operation, failing to stop for police, driving with a revoked license, leaving the scene of property damage, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and a warrant at about 6 p.m.State Police originally tried to stop Hernandez at Goodwin Circle, but instead led officers on a chase into downtown before getting stopped on Sherman Street, near the intersection of Washington and Foster streets.Hernandez allegedly ran into the backyard of 5 Sherman St. trying to flee. He reportedly stepped onto a glass-top picnic table to jump over a fence but fell through.Peabody Patrolman Gerry Fitzgerald reportedly suffered a knee injury during the incident.? Dan O’Brien
