Tickets are on sale now for the The Big Apple Circus, which is returning to Boston March 29.This year is the 30th Anniversary season and the theme is “Celebrate.”There’ll be hula-hoops, capering canines, soaring aerial acrobats, hilarious hi-jinks and so much more as performers throw a big 30 birthday bash for the one ring circus. With a live, original musical score, a chic British ringmistress, and of course our own lovable Grandma the Clown, the Big Apple Circus is back in town! C’mon, everybody, time to Celebrate!Artistic and Creative Directors Paul Binder and Michael Christensen have gathered an amazing cast of extraordinary performers who hail from around the world. From England, the internationally-acclaimed Yasmine Smart heralds the Belle Epoque of Classical Circus with a dazzling display of equestrian elegance. The Russian Kovgar Troupe returns by popular demand joyously jumping rope and rocketing to the top of the tent from their teeterboards. Irina Markova, who is also from Russia, returns with her tremendously talented troupe of devilish dogs and cavorting cats. From China the serene Cong Tian returns to the ring with his incredible balancing feats on a slim slack-wire. And of course from right here in America, Barry Lubin – the one and only Grandma the Clown.Award-winning Broadway composer Michael Valenti created the original music and orchestrations for the production, which is conducted by musical director Rob Slowik. Once again scenic designer Todd Rosenthal created a unique eye-catching proscenium set for the one ring circus.Performances of “Celebrate!” begin March 29 and run through May 4 under the Big Top in City Hall Plaza. Tickets for the show, which range from $15 to $62, are on sale now. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling 617- 931-2787 and at ticketmaster.com.
