Revere cab driver caught three wheels to the wind

REVERE – An alleged drunken cab driver is facing DUI charges after police say he was driving his taxi with a missing tire in Brown Circle early Sunday morning.Aini Benaoumeur, 47, of 65 Murray St., Chelsea, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of liquor and reckless operation of a vehicle shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday.Police stopped Benaoumeur after an officer noticed the cab negotiating the rotary with only three working wheels.”The right rear wheel had only remnants of rubber remaining,” Police Capt. Michael Murphy said.After stopping the cabbie, who worked for American Cab Inc. of West Roxbury, Benaoumeur denied that his car was having mechanical difficulties, police said.During a breath test Benaoumeur’s blood alcohol level registered .20, which is nearly three times the legal limit, Murphy said.
