REVERE-A Marlboro man charged with DUI made his arrest on VFW Parkway Saturday more difficult than it had to be by publicly urinating, according to police.By the time the two suspects were arrested, a police officer had to jump out of the way because one man allegedly began to urinate on the side of the road as police tried to take him into custody.Mario F. Ladino, 34, of Marlboro, was charged with indecent exposure and Wilfredo L. Cornejo, 30, of Worcester, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. At about 3:15 a.m. Saturday, an officer on patrol noticed a car stopped in the travel lane of VFW Parkway that had been sitting there for almost a half hour, police said. When the officer pulled up, he noticed the two occupants arguing, police said. The officer noticed the driver was exhibiting signs of intoxication, according to police.”The driver stated that he was coming from the beach. As the officer continued conversing with the driver and passenger it became increasingly apparent they were both under the influence of alcohol,” Police Capt. Michael Murphy said.Police said the officer asked Cornejo for his license several times, but the driver did not cooperate. In the meantime, Ladino allegedly got out of the vehicle and started urinating near the officer.”The officer called for assistance and was forced to push the passenger away,” Murphy said. When back up units arrived, officers struggled to get Cornejo to exit the vehicle, police said.”He refused to comply and officers ultimately had to pry him out of the vehicle,” Murphy said. “As a result of the struggle, the operator fell to the ground and struck his head.”The struggle allegedly continued as Cornejo was handcuffed. Murphy said Cornejo was combative during the entire booking process.
