SALEM – A Superior Court judge allowed a Marblehead man accused of home invasion to go home on $1,000, but ordered that he remain on house arrest and have no contact with his accuser.Rocco Nuzzolo, 26, of 25 Ruby Ave., entered his plea of not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday morning to home invasion and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.Judge Howard J. Whitehead agreed to let Nuzzolo go free on the same bail at the joint request of the prosecutor and defense.But Nuzzolo must abide by all conditions set earlier in district court which include that he report weekly to probation by phone, refrain from all alcohol or drugs during the dependency of his case, remain employed or seeking employment, consent to random screens and remain on the electronic monitoring system only to leave his home for court appearances, medical or attorney appointments.Assistant District Attorney Marsha H. Slingerland said the charges stem from an incident in Marblehead on or about Nov. 21 when Nuzzolo allegedly broke into his former girlfriend’s home on Pleasant Street and assaulted her male friend.According to reports, it was approximately midnight when Nuzzolo went to 185 Pleasant St., the home of his former girlfriend, and entered her apartment.He first knocked on her bedroom door, but when his former girlfriend did not open it, he apparently burst through the door reportedly holding a beer bottle in one hand and a brick in the other.He then lunged at her male guest, striking him in the head and chest. Following a struggle, Nuzzolo left the apartment.The man went to the hospital and received eight stitches to his head as a result of the incident.Nuzzolo is to report back to court on April 8 for a pretrial conference.
