NAHANT – A Revere man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stealing a car and leading Nahant police on a foot chase.Juan C. Partan, 28, of 54 Proctor Ave., Revere, was arrested shortly after 5 p.m. on a long list of charges.Police say Sgt. Paul Manley tried to pull over Partan’s car on Nahant Road inbound near Spring Road because it matched the description of a stolen car from Lynn. After the car had been pulled over for two minutes, Partan allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and ran away.Manley chased after the suspect into a nearby cemetery where Partan was arrested less than a minute later, police said.As Partan was being taken into custody, the owner of the stolen minivan was already waiting at the Lynn police station.Partan was ordered held at the Nahant police station on $5,000 cash bail.Police said Manley suffered rips to his pants, minor cuts, abrasions to both knees and pain in his lower back and shoulder as a result of the chase.Partan was charged with driving with a suspended license (fourth offense), negligent operation of a vehicle, receiving a stolen vehicle, using a vehicle without authority, failing to stop for police, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
