SWAMPSCOTT – Car thieves are dumping stripped vehicles in Swampscott residential neighborhoods.According to Police Chief Ronald Madigan, two stripped cars have been this week alone.Madigan said one vehicle was found earlier this week in a residential area off Paradise Road and the most recent stripped car was found on Thursday afternoon in the Foster’s Dam area.”It was stripped pretty good,” he said. “There is no way it was driven there.”Madigan said the vehicles were both compact foreign imports. He said at least two others were found earlier this year.He said the vehicles appear to have been dumped in town overnight but declined to elaborate on where the cars might have come from.According to Madigan, Swampscott detectives are working with the Governors Auto Theft Task Force on the investigation.Madigan urged any resident who notices anything suspicious, to call the police immediately at 781-595-1111.
