Harris stands out in Lynn elementary hoop tournament

LYNN – The 33rd annual Lynn Elementary Basketball Tournament wrapped up its second day with a couple of exciting contests taking center stage.In Division 1 boys action, Lucas Harris scored 26 points, including the game-winning basket, to help Shoemaker to a 35-33 win over Callahan. David Ryan had four points for the Sharks. Jordan Javier had and explosive game offensively for Callahan with 21 points.Also in Division 1 boys play, Harrington topped Ingalls, 40-17. Sheldon Vibbard had 23 points and Piry Perez, six points, in the win. Meliek Bennett had eight points for Ingalls.In Division 3 girls, Lynn Woods defeated Fallon, 23-7. Shanna Zerain had the hot hand for Lynn Woods with 18 points. Emily Johnson had four. Fallon’s Sewit Fiseha had four points.In Division 3 boys action, it was Lincoln-Thomson over Fallon, 24-6. Strati Saranteas had six points and Kyle Morrill, four, in the win. Brandon Phommathet had four points for Fallon.The Sisson boys were hitting just about everything they put in the air in a 54-8 win over Drewicz. Brent Lozzi had 14 points and Joey Calnan, 10 points, for Sisson. Savin Chin had four points for Drewicz. Tommy Flynn had a basket and played well defensively in the loss.In the final game of the night (Div. 1 girls) Shoemaker defeated Ford, 18-1. The Sharks led 2-0 at the half. Meaghan O’Neil, Kristen Tansey and Heidi Milhem each had four points for Shoemaker. Jalissa Ross had one point and played well defensively.Semifinal play begins today. In Division 3 girls,Lincoln-Thomson vs. Sewell-Anderson at 10 a.m. and Tracy vs. Lynn Woods at 11 a.m.. In Division 2 girls, Sisson plays Hood at noon and Washington vs. Drewicz at 1 p.m. In Division 2 boys action, Hood vs. Cobbet at 2 p.m. and Aborn vs. Sisson at 3 p.m.
