LYNN – An argument over loud music between tenants of a South Common Street apartment building turned bloody Tuesday when it escalated into a brawl involving baseball bats, police said.Daniel D. Macomber, 29 and Babatunde Adeyemi, 33, were both arrested. However, police will summons to court three women who were also involved.Officers arrived at 132 South Common St. at 4:35 p.m., they found five bloody people screaming at each other, police said.Police separated the groups and questioned them.Macomber, who lives in apartment 201, and two women present said the fighting began when they complained to Adeyemi’s wife, who lives in apartment 301, about loud music.Macomber allegedly walked into the hallway and yelled to turn the music down before retreating back to his apartment. After that, both sides of the argument tell different stories.Macomber says a few minutes later, Adeyemi’s wife began banging on his door, according to police. When Macomber’s female friend opened the door, Adeyemi’s wife greeted her holding a baseball bat. When the woman turned around, she was allegedly struck in the back of the head.Adeyemi’s wife told police that after Macomber originally yelled to turn the music down, she called her husband to inform him of the situation. Then she grabbed a baseball bat for protection and knocked on Macomber’s door, she told police.Adeyemi arrived within moments as a brawl began to escalate.During the fight, police say both women and men were punched in the head and face and struck with baseball bats. One of the women struck was pregnant but declined medical attention.Macomber and Adeyemi were charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and later released from custody on personal recognizance. They are expected back in Lynn District Court on April 30 for a pre-trial hearing.
