Bagel shop marks one year in Swampscott

SWAMPSCOTT – The Finagle Café and Bakery will mark its one-year anniversary in Vinnin Square with a weeklong series of events starting Monday, March 31.The eatery at 435 Paradise Road, part of the Newton-based restaurant chain, is offering a “Go Beyond Good Luncheon” special on March 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The deal: buy one adult lunch, get one free.Patrons throughout the day can also enter to win two EMC box seats at a Red Sox game. Every patron on Monday gets three free bagels until 4 p.m. or whenever the supply runs out.On Wednesday, April 2, New England Patriots player Lonnie Paxton will be at the shop from 11 a.m. to noon. Customers can bring in their Patriots memorabilia for Paxton to autograph. Paxton will also pose for photographs with his fans.The Wednesday special is a buy one, get one free from the Finagle breakfast panini menu throughout the day.The anniversary celebration continues on Friday, April 4, with Family Fun Day. Patrons can meet children’s musician Jeannie Mack for a sing-a-long from 10:30-11:30 a.m.From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. adults who buy lunch get a Finagle Kid’s Lunch free – pizza, peanut butter and jelly, or grilled cheese bagel with a drink and fruit. Bonaparte the Magician will entertain from 1:30-2:30 p.m.”We’re delighted to be able to offer our guests in Swampscott a week of events as a thank you for our warm welcome in the town,” said Laura Trust, co-president of Finagle. “As local, small business owners, my husband and I hope more area residents will drop on in to say hello.”Trust said opening a store on the North Shore has been a goal ever since they founded the company 10 years ago.Finagle has 20 restaurants in Greater Boston and specializes in bagels, salads, wraps, organic soups, pressed Panini and flatbread pizza.
