LYNN – Tracy Avenue residents awoke dumbfounded Monday when they noticed several cars and houses were spray-painted overnight by vandals.Police say they’re investigating the massive tagging incident, which left numerous parked cars and three houses behind Lynn English High School marked with graffiti.”This street is always very quiet,” said Christina Gonzalez, whose house at 109 Tracy Ave. was spray-painted on the side facing the driveway.Gonzalez says approximately 15 cars were tagged overnight.Missy Biondi lives in the second floor apartment at 95 Tracy Ave. with her husband and young children. They’re renovating the downstairs apartment for future Section 8 rentals and she is worried the word “Kerone,” which is sprayed on the fence outside, might be a code violation.”I pulled out of my driveway (Monday morning) and there it was,” Biondi said. “I don’t know what it is.”Biondi hadn’t seen much graffiti in the area recently, which is why she was surprised to see the damage outside her house.”I thought it died down but maybe it started picking up again,” she said.Police say officers will remain alert to ongoing activity in the area.”The officers assigned to the early morning shift will remain vigilant for this type of activity. We ask that citizens and neighbors do so as well,” Police Lt. Dave Brown said. “Each act of tagging is a felony.”Police recorded vandalism or break-ins at the following locations between 6 and 9 a.m. Monday: 105 Tracy Ave., 103 Tracy Ave., 109 Tracy Ave., 99 Tracy Ave., 95 Tracy Ave., 152 Tracy Ave., 115 Tracy Ave. and 130 Eutaw Ave., which is one block away.
