REVERE-Revere police officers called in the Boston Police Bomb Squad as a precaution Monday after an elderly woman turned in a device resembling a hand grenade at the police station.According to Police Capt. Michael Murphy, no evacuations of the station took place as the bomb squad investigated what the device was.It turned out the phony grenade was filled with lead and may have belonged to the woman’s son, who was in the Army in the 1980s, Murphy said.”There were markings on the device to indicate it may have been used for training, but there’s no way of knowing that,” Murphy said. The woman found the device inside her Revere home and brought it to the station around 11 a.m.
