LYNN – Police rounded up two alleged prostitutes working the streets of Lynn early Wednesday morning.Jewel C. Crutchfield, 37, of 135 Chestnut St. #2, Lynn and Rita M. Lavoie, 26, of 16 Appleton Park, Ipswich, were both arrested and charged with prostitution in separate incidents.Undercover officers first arrested Lavoie around 1:45 a.m. on Arlington Street. Two male officers were driving on Franklin Street near Albany Street when they allegedly observed Lavoie motion for them to pull over. The officers drove around the block, where, in the process, one of them jumped into the rear compartment of the vehicle to hide. When they came back around, Lavoie allegedly got into the vehicle and discussed having intercourse with an undercover officer. She then offered $40 for oral sex by the time police pulled over on Arlington Street.Lavoie was allegedly extremely uncooperative with police and threatened officers with lawsuits several times at the police station. She had to be seated for a time because officers were afraid she would assault them, police said.Lavoie failed to appear at her arraignment Wednesday in Lynn District Court and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.Crutchfield was arrested shortly after 2:30 a.m. by the same undercover officers as they cruised near the corner of Union and Chestnut streets. She allegedly waved the officers down before they rounded the corner and came back. As one of the officers was hiding in the back, Crutchfield allegedly offered to perform oral sex on the other officer for $30.Crutchfield is due back in court May 6 for a pre-trial hearing.
