SAUGUS – Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free a woman who slammed her vehicle into a Saugus police cruiser Tuesday as the officer worked a private detail on Route 1, police said.Officer Gary Sacco was working at a construction site in front of McDonald’s on the northbound side when the unidentified woman crashed into the police car causing extensive damage, according to police.The car did not strike the officer and he was not injured.The woman’s identity was not available Wednesday because police had not completed an accident report, according to Lt. Michael Annese.The woman claimed she lost her brakes when she crashed, police said.
