Swampscott bank robbed

SWAMPSCOTT – Police are searching for a white male, who robbed Eastern Bank in Vinnin Square at 11:20 a.m. Thursday.According to Detective Ted Delano, the suspect is 30 to 40 years old, weighs approximately 200 pounds and is between 5 feet- 10 inches and 6 feet tall with scruffy facial hair.According to police, the suspect was wearing blue jeans, white running shoes and a tan Carhartt jacket with a green and yellow emblem on the right chest. Delano said the suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt under the jacket and a white pin striped ball cap with a blue rim. The hat is described as an older style Chicago White Sox hat, with a large “S” on the front of the hat. The letters “O” and “X” were smaller in size.An undetermined amount of money was taken and police are appealing to the public for this assistance in identifying this individual. Anyone, who has any information, is asked to call Swampscott Detectives at 781-595-1111 or Trooper Shawn O’Neil, FBI Bank Robbery Task Force at 617-223-6408.
