Man shot during early morning brawl

at the Oasis nightclub in SaugusBy Robin Kaminski / The Daily ItemSAUGUS – An early morning brawl took place at the Oasis at 24 Frank Bennett Highway, where at least one person was injured by gunfire.Police responded to a call of a fight in progress with guns involved and several shots fired around 1:44 a.m.According to a police report, a gunshot victim allegedly called 911 at 1:51 a.m. and said they were in a motor vehicle headed into Lynn and that they would stop at the 7-11 store in Wyoma Square in Lynn.Atlantic Ambulance and Lynn fire responded to the call.Then around 2 a.m., Union Hospital called Saugus police and reported that a victim of a gunshot wound had been brought in by his friends for medical treatment.The victim reportedly had surgery around 4 a.m. to remove the bullet, while detectives stood by waiting to retrieve it. Revere and State Police also responded to the scene.
