SALEM – A Lynn laborer who admitted to dealing cocaine to an undercover officer near a school last summer received two and one-half years in prison.Rafael Brito, 54, of 44 Timson St., Lynn, pleaded guilty last week in Salem Superior Court to distribution of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and two counts of dealing cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school zone.He was arrested Aug. 23 after selling a $40 bag of cocaine to an undercover officer near a middle school in Lynn. Police found additional cocaine on his person when taken into custody.Judge Howard J. Whitehead sentenced Brito in accordance with an agreement reached between the prosecutor and defense.The judge credited Brito the 91 days he spent in jail while held on bail awaiting trial on the case.
