REVERE – A Revere man known for his illegal methamphetamine use by police was busted again Tuesday inside his Atwood Street home, police said.Victor Cao, 40, of 100 Atwood St., was arrested and charged with possession of a class B drug (meth) with intent to distribute and a drug violation in a school zone shortly after 11 a.m.”Mr. Cao has long been associated with meth,” Police Capt. Michael Murphy said. The North Suffolk County Drug Task Force planned the arrest after receiving information that Cao was expecting a package to be delivered with drugs inside, police said.Investigators received word that the package containing methamphetamines would be delivered to Cao’s next door neighbor’s home on Tuesday.Police waited outside until the package arrived at 98 Atwood St.Before the parcel was delivered, a drug-sniffing K-9 had examined it and indicated it had narcotics inside, police said.According to police, the delivery company arrived with the package around 11 a.m. and Cao signed for it under someone else’s name.Shortly after that, police confronted Cao and he allegedly told them the package contained meth.Officers then obtained a search warrant and opened the package, which contained paraphernalia consistent with drug distribution, police said.Police have long eyed the Atwood Street home for methamphetamine activity, which is generally rare in the northeastern United States compared to other parts of the country.”As far as we know, the problem does not go beyond a very isolated group with whom we are familiar,” Murphy said of methamphetamine use in Revere. The last known methamphetamine arrest was made Dec. 14 when Tam Le, 44, of Hollis, N.H., was caught speeding a short distance away from Cao’s home.Le was also arrested in August after he drove a bloodied, naked man to Cataldo Ambulances because he overdosed on meth, according to police.Cao’s last known drug arrest was in October 2006 for possession of a class B drug as well as assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was arrested in December 2007 for stalking a woman who took out a restraining order against him.In September 2005, Cao was arrested for violating a restraining order and assault and battery.
