SALEM – A 20-year-old Lynn man who police say they busted for selling heroin and cocaine was indicted Wednesday afternoon by an Essex County grand jury.Ruben O. Ramos, of 158 Chestnut St., is charged with trafficking over 14 grams of heroin, three counts of distribution of heroin, distribution of cocaine and unlawful possession of marijuana in connection with a series of drug sales to undercover police during a three-week span.Between Jan. 24 and Feb. 8 he allegedly sold heroin and cocaine to undercover officers in Lynn.Then on the afternoon of Feb. 13 he was arrested after selling over 14 grams of heroin to an undercover officer at the corner of Mall Street and Western Avenue.When they took him into custody a quantity of marijuana was apparently found on his person.Ramos faces a minimum mandatory punishment of five years in state prison if convicted of the heroin trafficking charge.The indictments handed up by the grand jury now move the case from Lynn District Court to Salem Superior Court.In the meantime, Ramos remains held at the Middleton Jail on $25,000 cash bail.Assistant District Attorney Kim Faitella is prosecuting the case for the commonwealth.
