REVERE – A 65-year-old Revere man was arrested Wednesday for raping his 6-year-old granddaughter on at least two occasions, police said.Felix A. Bardales, of 15 Haskell Ave., was arrested and charged with two counts of rape of a child and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child shortly after 11 a.m.Bardales was reportedly held on $50,000 cash bail at Chelsea District Court, but Police Chief Terence Reardon said Wednesday night that he could not confirm that information.Reardon says an investigation began after the girl’s mother – Bardales’ daughter – reported the abuse on March 23.The 6-year-old girl, who is not a Revere resident, and her mother were visiting Bardales at his home when the sexual assaults allegedly occurred, police said. The mother left the girl alone with Bardales and became concerned when she noticed the girl’s clothing appeared disheveled, according to police. The abuse was reported not long after the mother questioned her daughter, police said.Reardon described the abuse as “an ongoing incident” and said police are still investigating the possibility that more sexual assaults occurred.Bardales, a native of El Salvador, is not currently listed on the state sex offender registry, Reardon said.
