SALEM – Bail for a Lynnfield man facing a potential life sentence in state prison if convicted of unarmed robbery remains at $20,000 cash.Michael Kane, 44, of 35 Carter Road, Lynnfield, pleaded innocent Thursday in Salem Superior Court to two counts of unarmed robbery in connection with a two-day crime spree in Lynn last month.Judge David A. Lowy agreed to set the $20,000 cash bail as recommended by Assistant District Attorney Jean M. Curran and defense lawyer Terrence Kennedy, but left the door open for a bail review at another court date.Kane was returned to the Middleton Jail to await trial.On March 13 Kane is alleged to have robbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the CVS Pharmacy at 102 Boston St.The next day, he allegedly grabbed cash from the register drawer as the counterperson opened it at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 577 Walnut St., and fled with the cash.Kane was picked up later in a getaway truck on Boston Street.He was identified as the holdup man by both attendants, police said.Kane also has been indicted and charged with similar robbery crimes in Middlesex, according to Curran.
