NATICK – A father who beat another man to death at their sons’ hockey practice was denied parole for the second time Friday. In 2002, truck driver Thomas Junta was sentenced to 6 to 10 years in prison after he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Costin. On Friday, the state Parole Board rejected Junta’s second request for release, finding that Junta has “minimized his behavior” and not fully accepted responsibility for his actions. On Friday night, Gus Costin, the father of Michael Costin, said Junta “has no remorse. He’s not admitted any wrongdoing.”Orlandi said the board likely wants Junta to admit he’s guilty. The involuntary manslaughter conviction means the jury believed Junta knew or should have known what he was doing would cause a fatal injury.AP material was used for this report.
