LYNN – A thief responsible for plundering a car and numerous items from other vehicles in the city was arrested and stopped in his tracks early Friday morning.Ryan Patrick Kirk, 18, of 4 Old Dover Road, Rochester, N.H., was arrested and charged with violation of the city knife ordinance, under the influence of drugs, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, receiving stolen property over $250, three counts, receiving stolen property under $250, six counts, providing a false name, fugitive from justice, breaking and entering, nighttime, and possession of false/stolen motor vehicle documents.Kirk was also found to have several outstanding warrants from New Hampshire.On Friday, Kirk was arraigned in Lynn District Court and was ordered held at Essex County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.His next court date is scheduled for May 9.Around 4 a.m. Friday, an officer on patrol reportedly witnessed a beige colored Mercury Marquis, operated by Kirk, driving in the wrong direction on Baldwin Street.The officer then followed Kirk as he drove down Buffum Street and hit the curb.After stopping the vehicle, Kirk allegedly provided the officer with another person’s driver’s license and appeared to be under the influence.During the investigation, Kirk was found to be in possession of a bag containing several pills, a Massachusetts drivers license, one Nextel, one black cellular phone with “scarface” on it, one folding knife with a four inch blade, bottle of Polo cologne, women’s gold Timex watch, a GPS unit, coins, and a brass object.In addition, police discovered that the vehicle Kirk was operating was reported stolen from Cottage Street.During the booking, officers discovered Kirk’s name and connected him to thefts from motor vehicles on Hood and Linden streets.Police said Kirk bragged about how he breaks into cars and steals, and admitted to stealing the wallet, which contained the Massachusetts driver’s license, and other items.Despite his New Hampshire address, court officials said Kirk reportedly lives in Lynn with his two year old son and grandmother.
