LYNN – Police are investigating a rash of street robberies in the city the past few days, but say they don’t appear connected.Jennifer K. Shepard, 31, of 228 Washington St., Lynn and her sister Mary Gillette, 41, of 678 Washington St., Lynn, were arrested and charged with unarmed robbery at about 11 p.m. Friday. They were arrested after a 38-year-old Lynn woman claimed she was robbed outside Jules Restaurant on Washington Street, located one block away from the police station. The victim said Gillette approached her and asked for the time. Before she knew it, Gillette allegedly punched the victim in the face and stole $30. The victim had no signs of injury, police said.Police later spoke with the suspects who said the victim got upset after she went into Shepard’s apartment to buy drugs.Another robbery was reported around 1 a.m. Saturday after a 24-year-old Lynn woman said a male acquaintance stole her purse when he asked if she needed a ride outside 7-Eleven in Wyoma Square. The victim said she accepted the ride, during which the male assaulted her and stole her purse before she jumped out of “a slowly moving car,” Police Lt. Dave Brown said.A 16-year-old Lynn boy was allegedly robbed of his cell phone and cash after he was approached by two white males in their 20s on Eade Street shortly before 12:30 a.m. Sunday. They allegedly asked if they could use his cell phone when one of the suspects demanded the victim hand over “everything you have.”An unarmed robbery at 23 Hanover St. at 1:20 p.m. Monday resulted in the arrest of two juveniles minutes later.Details of the incident were not available Monday night, but police confirmed that a 15-year-old Quincy Terrace boy and a 13-year-old Collins Street boy were arrested and charged with unarmed robbery for the incident.
