LYNN – North Shore Community College will host two events this week, a Multi-Cultural fair taking place in the Lynn Campus gymnasium today, and a performance of the Masque of Beauty and the Beast April 18 and 19.The Multi-Cultural Fair will feature a large number of countries including Armenia, Cambodia, Greece, Japan, Nigeria and Italy with performances, demonstrations, information booths and foods scheduled throughout the day.The event takes place from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and it is free and open to the public.The fair will begin at 9 with Faces in the Hall, a presentation by the diversity Leadership Council. There will be several dance and music performances including Salsa and Cambodian dancers, Taiko Japanese Drumming and a performance of the Pakistani National Anthem. The event will also feature a discussion called The Immigrant Experience: Sharing our Stories from 11:10-11:30.NSCC’s Performing Arts Council will present the Masque of Beauty and the beast on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19 in the Lynn Campus Gymnasium, with two performances at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day.Based on the 17th century French fairy tale, “La Belle et la Bete” by Madame Le Prince de Beaumont, the play offers a more classical spin on the story made popular by Walt Disney Pictures.General admission tickets are $7; students with ID and seniors are $5.
