LYNN – A Toyota Camry crashed over a front yard fence and into a house moments after colliding with a car Thursday at a notorious intersection that has seen a number of serious crashes in just the past week.No one was hurt after the Camry crashed into the corner of 263 Chatham St., at the intersection of Marianna Street, once it took out the home’s fence at about 6 p.m.An accident at the intersection around 2 a.m. Saturday destroyed a disabled resident’s parked car while another wreck seriously damaged two cars there around 5 p.m. Tuesday.”Something’s got to be done soon,” said 49-year-old resident Roberta Thomas, whose 1995 Chevy Lumina was totaled by a hit-and-run driver Saturday while parked outside her home.Thomas suffers osteoarthritis and a crushed spine. She relies on a fixed income by working as a part-time school bus driver. Between paying for medical expenses and bills, she doesn’t know how she can afford a new car.Thursday’s accident occurred after one car was turning from Marianna onto Chatham and got in the path of the Camry, which quickly swerved right to avoid the vehicle as it drove down the hill toward Western Avenue, witnesses said.”We need a light here before one of our kids gets killed accidentally,” Chatham Street resident Jamie Wyckoff said.Currently, only a blinking light is located over the intersection.Wyckoff works at the Custom Built construction business, which is located a few doors down from the notorious intersection. A car crashed into the business about six years ago, she said.”A car flipped over and went right through the side of the building into the office,” Wyckoff said.Wyckoff, 25, said a motorcyclist amazingly walked away without serious injury after getting thrown off his bike from colliding with a car at the street corner in July.”His helmet was down by our house. His sneakers were down here,” she said while pointing up the street.Wyckoff, the mother of a 2-year-old boy, Nicholas, pointed out that both the Ingalls and Hood schools are within walking distance. Several children were in the area as police investigated the accident.”Thank God no one was hurt,” she said.
