LYNN – A Malden man was arraigned Thursday after he allegedly pistol-whipped his ex-girlfriend’s new lover and stomped on his head hours earlier.Bernard T. Gadson, 18, of 120 Daniels St., Malden, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (handgun and shod foot) shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday.Police responded to his ex-girlfriend’s Amory Street home around 11:15 p.m. for a disturbance and found her new boyfriend’s face covered in blood with massive swelling around his left eye, police said. The alleged victims said Gadson drove next to their parked car when he allegedly opened the door and punched the ex-boyfriend, according to police. The victims said Gadson pistol-whipped the boyfriend and stomped on his head after punching the girlfriend twice in the face, police said.Police said there were no visible injuries on the girlfriend, but she said he didn’t hit her very hard.Gadson had already left the area when police arrived, but he phoned the station a short time later and eventually turned himself into police.Gadson gave a very different version of events. He said he sees the girlfriend almost every day and sleeps at her house almost every night, police said.Sometime Wednesday night, Gadson allegedly received a phone call from a private number. At the other end was a male voice allegedly asking him what his problem was as the girlfriend was heard speaking in the background.Gadson allegedly drove to the girlfriend’s house and found her and the new boyfriend sitting in a car outside. Both men exited their vehicles and got confrontational.Gadson said he punched the boyfriend but doesn’t own a gun and never kicked the victim or struck the woman, police said.Lynn District Court Judge Ellen Flatley ordered Gadson held on $500 cash bail and set a date of May 15 for a pre-trial hearing.
