LYNN – A gun wielding Lynn man in possession of marijuana, cocaine and crack cocaine, was arrested and taken off the streets Tuesday.Ali J. McMillan, 18, of 17 Franklin St., Apt. #1, Lynn, was arrested and charged with possession of class D, possession of class B with intent to distribute, subsequent offense, carrying a firearm without a license or FID card, unlicensed possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, school zone violation, Tuesday.McMillan was arraigned at Lynn District Court and was ordered held at the Middleton House of Correction in lieu of $25,000 cash bail until a probable cause hearing on May 13.According to a police report, members of the Lynn police gang unit were on Franklin Street in an unmarked police vehicle when they noticed McMillan and another person speaking with another male as they were walking.Officers said they saw McMillan and the other male join hands, to which they believed was a drug transaction. As the officers approached McMillan, the other male immediately walked away and McMillan began walking in another direction.Yelling at McMillan to stop, the other male took off and ran toward Franklin Street, where he was quickly stopped by police, but was let go after he was frisked.McMillan was found to have a plastic bag on him in his left front pant pocket containing four individual bags inside containing one bag of cocaine, and three bags of crack cocaine.Police also found a $1 bill with a green substance inside believed to be marijuana in McMillan’s right front pant pocket.During McMillan’s booking, police noticed a loose round of 25-caliber ammunition on a table that was not originally found during the first search. When police used a metal detector on McMillan, it beeped twice and they had him take his sneakers and belt off so that he could be further searched. One of the officers placed his hand on McMillan’s chest and noticed that it was pounding unusually hard. When he asked McMillan why, he said his heart wasn’t beating loud. When McMillan was asked if he had any more drugs or a weapon on him, McMillan responded, “yeah” and was further searched.Officers located a Beretta .25 caliber black semi-automatic handgun in the crotch area of the long underwear that McMillan was wearing. The gun had eight rounds of ammunition in the magazine and one round in the chamber. The loose round of ammunition found earlier during his booking matched the rounds in the firearm.
