REVERE – Police say a road rage incident may have led to the rollover on Route 1A Wednesday that landed four Malden youths in the hospital.Dat Tran, 17, was cited for speeding and a marked lanes violation.Tran and his passengers, Daniel Knight, 18, Chris Joyner, 17 and Justin Crosby, 16 were all transported to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. At approximately 5:55 p.m., Tran allegedly drove in and out of lanes before his car skidded and rolled over on the southbound side of North Shore Road just south of The Wharf restaurant, police said. His rolling vehicle crashed into a car that was parked outside European Exotics repair shop, totaling the vehicle, which had just been repaired.Police initially said the crash may have been the result of a drag racing incident, but a police captain said Thursday it was likely the result of a road rage incident.”Given the time of day and the volume of traffic, you wouldn’t think they were drag racing,” Capt. Michael Murphy said.Witnesses told police Tran’s vehicle appeared to be swerving around another car before the crash, according to police.
