Lynn Public Schools Art Exhibition coming

LYNN-Budding artists from throughout the Lynn Public Schools Fine Arts Department will take hold of all three LynnArts galleries next month when the annual Lynn Public Schools Art Exhibition gets underway.The colorful and energetic exhibit showcases art from students at all grade and skill levels, including painting, sculpture, abstract, representational and computer-based art.This year, the theme will be multiculturalism. Art students in each school have been working with that theme throughout the year, and will showcase work that highlights the diverse and unique population of Lynn.The gallery will be open from May 2- May 26, with an opening reception scheduled for Wednesday night, May 7 from, 6:30-8 p.m. with an official ceremony beginning at 7.Lynn arts is also kicking off another year of Third Thursdays with a pizza tasting and concert on Thursday, May 22 from 5-7 p.m. in Central Square. Attendees can sample pizza from various local chefs and vote for their favorite while enjoying the music of local band Carfish.On Saturday, June 21 Lynn Arts will hold a beer tasting and fundraiser auction from 7-10 p.m. The auction will feature the work of local artists, while the beer tasting will feature samples from a variety of local breweries. Tickets for a champagne preview party with a chance to meet the artists are $100.
