Lynn woman, local men indicted

SALEM – A Lynn woman and two local men were indicted Wednesday afternoon on separate cases by an Essex County grand jury.Gloria Perez, no age or address available, of Lynn, stands charged with twenty-six counts involving charges of forgery, and larceny of property over $250.The allegations pertain to incidents between December of 2005 and July of 2006 when she allegedly stole nearly $40,000 from the Sovereign Bank branch at 35 Market Square in Lynn, where she worked at the time.Joseph Elliott, 56, of 47 School St., Salem, is charged with seven counts of rape involving allegations he raped three women between July 31, and August 7 in Lynn, Salem and Beverly.Paul F. Stunzi, 54, of 1 DePietro Ave., Salem, is charged with drunk driving, fourth offense, operating under the influence after suspension for drunk driving, operating after suspension of license after been found to be a habitual traffic offender and use of a vehicle without authority concerns his arrest in Danvers when police allegedly found him asleep behind the wheel on Dayton Street on Feb. 29.Indictments are not an indication of guilt. They are a legal formality allowing a case to be transferred from District Court to Superior Court, allowing for a more severe punishment.
