PEABODY – Despite an aggressive effort by officers, two suspected burglars got away after a foot chase Sunday near Eagan Place, police said.Just after 9:30 p.m., police were called to 19 Eagan Place after someone noticed two suspicious men enter the residence.As police arrived, the pair began running away from the rear of the home and officers began to follow.The suspects were last seen running through backyards toward Boston Street in Salem, according to police.Later in the night, police discovered that property was stolen from the residence.Both suspects were described as tall Black or Hispanic males wearing dark clothing.The incident remains under investigation.
