LYNN – Exercise, healthy snacks, and workshops on self defense, nutrition, community service, computer literacy and career possibilities are all part of a new Greater Lynn YMCA summer program for girls. The free six-week program funded by the Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Women’s Fund of Essex County is called My Time. Sessions begin July 9 and will be 4-7 p.m. The program is for girls ages 11-14.”It’s exercise you’ll love, with a healthy snack break and workshops on lots of different topics of interest to girls of that age, and it’ll equip them with the skills to be successful in life and school,” said Sharon Dobbyn, the YMCA fitness director. The group size is limited. Registration forms are available at the YMCA. Completed forms should be returned to the Greater Lynn YMCA, 20 Neptune Boulevard, Lynn, MA, 01902, and marked to the attention of Sofya Yampolsky. For more information about My Time, call the YMCA at 781-581-3105 or go online to www.lynnymca.org.
