LYNN – Moviemaking crews are blocking off Andrew Street today for the final re-shoot of an action scene in the new Bruce Willis thriller “Surrogates.”The activity centers on an alleyway where a motorcycle chase comes to an end. A stuntman drives the black low-slung motorcycle, but in the movie the bad guy on the run in the close-ups will be Lynn native Jack Noseworthy, who plays opposite to Willis’ good cop.”I have an enormous amount of respect for Bruce Willis. He’s professional, knowledgeable, and obviously a huge movie star. And when you’re working with him, you realize how much pressure he’s under as the person carrying the weight of the film,” Noseworthy said Thursday between shoots in Hopedale, where Surrogates is filming. “He inspires everybody around him.”Noseworthy, 43, who graduated from Lynn English in 1982, has been acting professionally for nearly 20 years. “I really don’t have a game plan in terms of roles,” he said. “I tend to consider whatever comes down the pipe and I don’t mind breaking it up with a little variety. I love doing what I do and the fact that I can make more than a living from it. I’ve never done anything else.”The actor said the job often allows him to live for extended periods on location and affords him the chance to learn about the local culture. “There aren’t many jobs that let you do that. And when you’re working under the umbrella of a film, they treat you really well.”As for working in Lynn, Noseworthy was especially pleased that several of his boyhood friends came to the set to watch him work. “I think it’s great that they could actually see what I do,” he said. “And the whole idea of working in Lynn, in my hometown, well, there are no words to express it. I mean, what are the odds?”Ernie Malik, the film’s publicist, said the scenes already filmed on Andrew Street using two helicopters will not be repeated. “At this point, it looks like just a one-day re-shoot of the alley,” he said Thursday. “It also looks like Jack Noseworthy will be back in his hometown.”The re-shoot will require restricting motor vehicle traffic from Andrew Street and perhaps temporarily halting it at each end, on Central and Market streets, respectively.Willis is not expected on the set. The movie takes place in the not-too-distant future when many people carry out their day jobs or errands through robotic surrogates. When Willis’ surrogate malfunctions, he’s forced to leave his apartment in search of a replacement. Part of that search contains footage from an earlier shoot in Lynn, during which a former downtown bank was transformed into a futuristic electronics store.Production work crews have been cleaning up a vacant lot along Oxford Street where a bus crash was staged as part of the film last week. The lot was strewn with rubble, a twisted city bus, burned out truck and other props.Surrogates is set for release in 2009.
