LYNN – Police say an apparent murder victim was found early Monday morning behind a bakery on Union Street.Investigators were dispatched to the parking lot behind Mi Guatemala Bakery at 201 Union St., near the intersection of Burchstead Place, at 5:41 a.m.Lynn Police Department spokesman Lt. Ted Blake said the man appeared to have died violently but he declined to elaborate on the cause of death. Witnesses told the Item the man appeared to have been stabbed in the chest.”We’re treating this as a homicide,” Blake said, noting that an autopsy was scheduled.The slaying marked the third murder in Lynn since the year began.Authorities did not release the identity of the victim Monday, but said he is Hispanic.Witnesses said the man was in his mid-20s. He lay on his back near a wood fence bordering the lot and about 15 feet from a box truck. Witnesses said the man’s chest was covered in blood and saw blood spattered across the truck’s front bumper.Bakery owner Freddy Rodriguez said his workers initially thought someone had passed out in the lot.”At first they thought it may have been someone drunk,” Rodriguez said.Neighbors and employees in nearby businesses said they often call police when they spot people drinking in the lot or prostitutes rendezvousing with customers.
