REVERE – A Revere man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly raping his former live-in girlfriend twice in the past year, police said.Jaime A. Pena, 26, of 212 Beach St., was arrested and charged with two counts of rape shortly after 1 p.m.The former girlfriend first reported the alleged abuse June 30 and police were able to make an arrest Tuesday after an investigation into the claims, police said.The couple had been together about four years when the relationship began to sour when Pena allegedly began cheating on the woman in September, according to police.Since then, Pena allegedly became increasingly abusive and forced his girlfriend into “unnatural sexual intercourse” at least twice, Capt. Michael Murphy said.Murphy says the woman, who primarily speaks Spanish, had little help from her family due to cultural differences. A Spanish interpreter was used to interview the woman at the police station.Pena was brought in for questioning Tuesday and arrested following the interview. He was transported to Chelsea District Court for arraignment shortly before 2 p.m.
