Lynn man arrested for alleged kidnapping of ex-girlfriend

REVERE – A Lynn man was arrested Monday for allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend early Saturday as she walked home from work, police said.Luis Carrillo Rustrian, 24, of 1 Green St., Lynn, was arrested and charged with assault and battery and kidnapping.Police say Rustrian and the victim work together at the I-Hop restaurant on Squire Road. They also used to date.The victim was walking to a train station around 6 a.m. Saturday when Rustrian allegedly found her and offered her a car ride home. He forced her into his vehicle after she refused to go with him, police said.”The victim reports she fought with the defendant but was overpowered,” Police Capt. Michael Murphy said.The woman made several efforts to escape the vehicle, police said.She was unsuccessful because Rustrian activated child safety mechanisms on the rear doors and pulled off the window knobs when she tried to open a window, according to police.The victim was taken to Lynn at one point and tried to escape, police said. She was allegedly pushed back into the car and restrained with a seatbelt.Before the ordeal was over, Rustrian allegedly drove the victim to Boston before finally returning her to Revere. She was released at the Wonderland train station, where she took the subway to her mother’s home in Roxbury.The victim contacted Boston police, who transported her to the hospital. Revere police were contacted at about 2 p.m. Saturday – eight hours after the alleged abduction occurred.Revere police, who were familiar with Rustrian, arrested him early Monday morning at IHOP, Murphy said.
