LYNN – A Lynn Shore Drive man was arrested twice this weekend for allegedly beating his wife, police said.Peter A. Filipiak, 58, of 300 Lynn Shore Drive, #400, Lynn, was arraigned Monday on domestic violence charges.Police first responded to his home at 7 p.m. Friday after his 57-year-old wife allegedly called a friend screaming that Filipiak was beating her.The friend immediately called police, saying the victim had laid the phone on the bed and could hear the woman screaming, “He’s hitting me!”Police said both Filipiak and his wife appeared drunk when officers arrived. The victim told police that her husband had pushed her twice in the shoulder, but police did not find any marks on her.Filipiak was arrested for domestic assault and battery. His wife bailed him out of jail a few hours later. On Sunday morning, the wife returned to the police station to report another alleged assault. At about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, just hours after his release from the earlier assault, Filipiak allegedly kicked his wife and threatened to burn her face with a lit cigarette. Police said they found large purple bruises on the victim after the husband threw her to the ground.According to court records, police documented the incident and planned to seek an arrest warrant against Filipiak on Monday in Lynn District Court. However, the victim complained Sunday that Filipiak was at their home and she did not feel safe.Police went to the Lynn Shore Drive home and arrested Filipiak without incident. He allegedly told police he hadn’t seen his wife since he was bailed.
