REVERE – A small group of Hell’s Angels was arrested Saturday for weapons violations on Revere Beach, authorities said.Thomas Brown, 47, of 24 Hillside Ave., Salem, Lawrence Briggs, 53, of 9 Somerby Lane, Saugus and Richard Brown, 29, of 32 Magnolia Ave., Lynn were arrested at about 11 p.m. Saturday.Thomas Brown and Briggs were wearing vests with the words “Hell’s Angels” printed on the back at the time they were arrested, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. The vests also contained patches that confirmed their affiliation with the infamous biker gang, authorities said.State Police spokesman Trooper Eric Benson says a Trooper from the Revere Beach Barracks was patrolling Revere Beach Boulevard when he noticed the three bikers driving on the wrong side of the double-yellow line to pass slow-moving traffic. The Trooper also says the motorcycles were causing loud noise, which is a violation of a city ordinance that prohibits harsh noise late at night near the beach.Police stopped the three motorcycles on the northbound side of the Boulevard near Antonia’s restaurant. A Trooper suspected the bikers might have weapons after one of the suspects made suspicious movements and frisked them for his own safety, police said.A loaded .380 caliber Curz handgun was found in a front storage compartment of Thomas Brown’s 1992 Harley Davidson, according to police.After further inspection, police allegedly found Brown in possession of a bullwhip and said he was wearing an illegal helmet.Briggs, who was riding a 1998 Harley Davidson and Richard Brown, who was riding a 2001 Harley Davidson, were both arrested for violating Revere’s city knife ordinance that prohibits possession of a knife more than 2.5 inches. Briggs was also in possession of a double-edged dagger and was additionally charged with carrying a dangerous weapon.Thomas Brown, who faces the most charges, posted $1,000 bail and was released from police custody a short time after his arrest. At his arraignment Monday in Chelsea District Court, prosecutors asked that his bail be increased to $15,000 but Judge James Lamothe denied the request.Richard Brown and Briggs are scheduled for arraignment today.
