PEABODY – Authorities said Tuesday that two arson cases in Lynn and Peabody are still being investigated.Shortly after 7:30 a.m. Monday, investigators were called to the parking lot of American Chimney Sweeps at 62 Pulaski St. in Peabody, where someone tried to burn two company vans, police said.According to Peabody Police Lt. Dennis Bonaiuto, one van had a burned blanket left inside the vehicle when it was found.Another van also showed signs of attempted arson, Bonaiuto said.In Lynn, fire investigators were called to the Sullivan Tire parking lot on the Lynnway shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday.A passerby called 911 after seeing a truck burst into flames and a man running away from the scene, police said.A suspect was apprehended on Commercial Street and arrested on two outstanding warrants, police said. He has not been charged with the fire.Fire investigators in both communities say their investigations are very active.It’s not clear if the cases are connected.
