LYNN – A family feud resulted in three arrests Sunday at a Chestnut Street home when a teenage girl and two adults went at it, according to police.Juanita Brooks, 51, her son Christopher Brooks, 30 and Shawna Mullen, 17, all of 295 Chestnut St., Lynn, were arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery shortly after 5 p.m.The women traded punches and pulled each other’s hair before the fight was over, according to police. Christopher Brooks is accused of ripping Mullen off his mother, then strangling her as he held her on the ground.Mullen called police from a friend’s house around 4:45 p.m. to report she had been assaulted, police said.Police first questioned Juanita Brooks, who is the girlfriend of Mullen’s father. Brooks told police an argument began after Mullen, who had been sleeping all day, grabbed a blanket and pillow and locked herself in the bathroom where she started to fall asleep, police said.Brooks began knocking on the door after Christopher Brooks said he needed to use the bathroom, police said. The girl’s father was not home at the time.Juanita Brooks said Mullen exited the bathroom and began throwing objects around the house, according to police. Mullen then went into another room and began opening and slamming a door several times to the point where it almost broke, Brooks allegedly told police. The woman said she tried to grab Mullen’s hand to release it from the door when Mullen slapped her across the face, police said. That’s when the fight allegedly spilled on the back porch and punches were thrown and Christopher Brooks intervened.Red marks consistent with hand prints were found on Mullen’s throat, police said.Police said they weren’t sure who was the aggressor, so they hauled everyone off to jail.
