LYNN – Several bars appeared before the Licensing Board Tuesday to give updates on the status of their businesses.The Blue Note at 111 Sagamore St. came before the board to discuss an alleged after hours violation from June 15.Represented by attorney John Mihos, the bar was allegedly in clean-up mode when Lynn Police showed up to check out the situation.Board Chairman Richard Coppinger said an officer counted 37 people inside the bar, but Mihos said only 17 employees were actually there.?The bar has to understand the rules that we have because we don?t want to see you here again,” Coppinger said, before issuing a letter of warning to the bar.Mihos assured the board that the same incident would not happen again.Kevin?s Bar and Grille at 151 Central Ave., will reportedly re-open its doors in two weeks after being closed for several months.Appropriate permits are now in order according to bar representatives. Kevin?s will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight, six days a week, with the possibility of being open on Sunday.Club Fenix, at 517 Washington St., which was shut down because it lacked a sprinkler system, is still in the midst of installing sprinklers and is expected to finish the project within three to four weeks.Two outstanding fines, one for $775 for an alarm violation and a trash violation for $225, have yet to be paid and a food license must be obtained before the club reopens.Club Caney at 64 Baldwin St., which was also shut down because of a lack of a sprinkler system, will reportedly have a system installed by the end of August.A temporary occupancy permit of 99 was previously issued to the club, which can hold up to 150 people with a sprinkler system.
