Couple arrested after Saugus foot chase

SAUGUS – A North Shore couple was arrested Friday after stealing from Stop and Shop and leading police on a foot chase down Birch Street, police said.John E. Daddario, 32, of 44 Birch St., Saugus and Jenna L. McNeil, 24, of 44 Gould St., Stoneham, were arrested shortly after 7 p.m.Police say the pair stole cosmetics from the Main Street supermarket when they fled the store in a Dodge pickup truck that was registered to Daddario.Officers went to Daddario’s home when he and McNeil allegedly ran out of a back door and led police on a brief foot chase. The suspects were apprehended at the nearby Senior Center.Police say $231 worth of merchandise was recovered and returned to Stop and Shop.McNeil was charged with larceny over $250 and Daddario was arrested on four outstanding warrants.Police also arrested Thomas Richmond, 50, who also lives at 44 Birch St. for failing to register as a sex offender, violating a restraining order and three outstanding warrants. He was not charged with the shoplifting incident.
