Lynn police investigating possible animal cruelty

LYNN – Police and Lynn Animal Control say they’re still investigating an animal cruelty incident that was reported on Saturday.Police responded to 18 Ontario St. at about 10:45 a.m. on a report that a cat was being horribly mistreated.According to police spokesman Lt. William Sharpe, a cat was found outside with nylon rope tied around its neck and another rope tied from the cat to a fixed object.Sharpe said the feline did not suffer any significant harm and had been removed from the nylon ropes prior to the arrival of officers.Animal Control Officer Kevin Farnsworth said Thursday there were no witnesses to the crime and did not have further information on the incident.
