REVERE – Contrary to a report in a weekly Revere newspaper, Lenny Piazza of Beachmont is not dead. The 81-year-old Bellingham Avenue resident was alive and well when reached by phone Wednesday night.”I’m doing pretty well,” Piazza said laughing. “I have a 94-year-old uncle. I understand while I was out later in the afternoon he called and left a message. I hope it didn’t give him a palpitation of the heart.”The Revere Journal falsely reported Wednesday on its “People and Politics” page that Piazza, a participant in the Revere Society for Cultural and Historic Preservation and the Beachmont Improvement Committee, had passed away. He received about 20 concerned phone calls Wednesday.Piazza, the owner of a 1963 Cadillac convertible, attended an antique cars show in Danvers Wednesday night with his son. The grandfather of three says he plans to stay active in the community, continuing his efforts to preserve a park near Beachmont Square and painting the old Immaculate Conception rectory on Beach Street.”When I say that I’m 81, I’d like to think that I’m a younger 81, not an older 81,” Piazza said.
