LYNN -Louna Eveillard endured eight years of abuse by accused murderer Rodlyn Petitbois according to the attorney who stood by her in court Tuesday as she pleaded not guilty to helping Petitbois elude police.Prosecutors are moving to indict Petitbois for the July 30 murder of Greenland Etienne and an indictment is likely to be handed down before Petitbois? scheduled Sept. 12 return to District Court.He pleaded not guilty Aug. 1 to the charge of murdering Etienne.Eveillard, 26, is due back in court Sept. 15 for a pre-trial conference in connection with the accessory after the fact charge she faces.Judge Michael Lauranzano Tuesday released her from custody with the requirement that she check in daily with probation officers, have no contact with Etienne?s family and seek assistance from the anti-domestic violence organization Help for Abused Women and Children to obtain housing.Several of Etienne?s relatives attended Eveillard?s arraignment, including Etienne?s brother, Estovensen, who swore at Eveillard as she left the courtroom.New York police arrested Eveillard on Aug. 1 and charged her with being a fugitive from justice two days after she traveled by bus from Boston to New York with Petitbois and their four young children.Police at first thought Petitbois kidnapped Eveillard and the children after killing Etienne in the Highlands apartment where Eveillard had been living with Etienne.After questioning Petitbois and Eveillard separately, investigators determined their pair?s accounts of Etienne?s murder contradicted witnesses versions of the murder.Lynn police asserted in the warrant they issued for Eveillard?s arrest that she “knew Rodlyn Petitbois committed murder and did harbor, conceal or assist such person that she should avoid or escape detention or arrest.”But Eveillard?s attorney, Alison Bloomquist, said Eveillard fears Petitbois and confirmed initial accounts by witnesses to police that Eveillard asked Etienne if she could move in with her after Petitbois assaulted her in early July.
