SWAMPSCOTT – The former home of Paradise Cleaners at 980 Paradise Road is scheduled to be razed in the very near future.Centercorp Retail Properties Inc. owns the property, which is located next to Uno’s Chicago Grill.Andrew Rose, one of the principals with Centercorp, said the company has all the required permits in hand except the demolition permit, which it expects to receive this week.”We already have the demolition equipment there,” he said. “We would like to demolish it this week.”Department of Public Works Director Gino Cresta said Meninno Construction is handling the demolition and it has already requested water and sewer service be turned off so the mains can be capped before demolition begins.Rose said Centercorp plans to build a 6,200 square foot facility that would house three businesses.”The building will be 10 percent bigger than what was there,” Rose said. “We reduced the amount of ledge we were going to remove so the neighbors still have a buffer. The Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and neighbors were all involved. Everyone got what they wanted. It’s going to be a great looking building. It will be a benefit to the community and make the area stronger.”Rose said T-Mobile, Dunkin’ Donuts and Five Guys Burgers and Fries would be occupying the space.Five Guys Burgers and Fries is based in Virgina and is just starting to make inroads in New England, according to Rose. The restaurant chain prides itself on using fresh ground beef and fresh potatoes for its fries.”They have 280 stores,” Rose said. “But there aren’t any in this area yet.”Rose said he expects the project to be completed next spring.
